Looked in two reference books and although the Stevens Model 520 was listed in both, no dates of manufacture were listed. There is no published serial number-year made tables for Stevens made guns and some records were destroyed in a fire years ago.

The Stevens 620 was made between 1927-39 when it was replaced by the Model 620A made between 1940-55. The Model 620 is a streamlined redesign of the John Browning designed Model 520. The recoil pad is an aftermarket addition. The other numbers besides the serial number are inspector’s stamps.
