Illustrator snap to guide.
For some reason I am having issues with Snapping to Guides in Illustrator. I create a 1000 X 1000 pixel Document. I create a Horizontal & Vertical guide… both are exactly placed at the 500 pixel mark. I am sure of this by checking the x & y boxes up top. I then try to drag the ruler reset tool to set the zero point directly in the center.
The Ctrl (or Command for Mac users) does not alter snap behavior in any way, never has in Illustrator. I sorely wish it did. You may need to turn on Snap to Point, Snap to Grid, or Smart Guides in the View Menu and ensure the snap distance in the preferences is set how you want it. My guess would be you simply need to turn on Smart Guides.Navigate to View > Guides and make sure that you Show Guides and Unlock Guides. To align to a guide in Illustrator, select the objects and the guide. Click on the guide a second time to make it the key object. Now you can use the Align panel ( Shift + F7) to align objects to your guides.Smart Guides are not showing when I use Adobe Illustrator CC. There were several posts in this forum that suggest turning of "snap to grid" and double checking the preferences that smart guides are on. I've done both and provided screenshots.
